A playground for the Maple vacant lot: help our neighbors in Mumbai

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 338 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $400 goes: • Materials: $300 • Permits and inspections: $25 • Safety equipment and signage: $45 • Tools hire and delivery: $30 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
