Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Shirin
Help Shirin regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇧🇩 Dhaka, Bangladesh1,107 views
Shirin has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Shirin can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Shirin's family will cook lunch for the team.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

hope the doctors have good news. I hope October is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Savar.
Hope the doctors have good news. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best
