A pair of hearing aids for Jide: help me move freely
A pair of hearing aids would give Jide independence - we're $350 away.
🇳🇬 Nigeria900 views
I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at Badagry General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $350.
My current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment I could join the school sports day. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $350 goes:
• pair of hearing aids: $260
• Fitting and training sessions: $40
• Delivery and set-up: $15
• First-year servicing plan: $35
Thank you for reading my story.
