A fresh start in Embakasi: help the Hashemi family resettle
Help a family of 3 start their new life in Embakasi: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.

My family left Somalia 6 months ago after we were targeted for our work. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Embakasi. We're a family of four and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in December.
I was an engineer in Somalia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $350 goes:
• Language classes and bus passes: $60
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $20
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $270
With deep gratitude,
Otieno

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Stockholm.
