Ziggy is my rescue greyhound of three years. On 8 September we rushed to the Onitsha Emergency Vet Clinic with a tumor on the spleen. The vet recommends orthopedic surgery, and the estimate came to $150. They have stabilized Ziggy, but the treatment can't wait beyond December. Ziggy is more than a pet - Ziggy walks my kids to the bus stop every morning. I have already put $25 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan. Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back. If more is raised than needed, the surplus goes to the Onitsha Emergency Vet Clinic's charity fund for other animals. Where the $150 goes: • Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $25 • Emergency surgery: $100 • Medication and follow-up visits: $25 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Gbenga

Updates from Gbenga

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($81 in total) I made the first payment toward emergency surgery. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  • Keep going. We've got a rescue too so I know how much they mean. I went through something like this 10 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Onitsha.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Gbenga.
