Surgery fund for Christina: cataract surgery in Patras
A scheduled cataract surgery in October is out of reach without help covering $2,200 of the cost.

Christina was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in August. The surgeon at Saint Matthew Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,950, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $2,200 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Saint Matthew Hospital since August. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,950 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Christina struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Christina won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $2,200 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $175
• Physiotherapy sessions: $240
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $1,250
• Travel and lodging for the family: $210
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $325
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
