A fresh start in Adama: help the Shevchenko family resettle
After fleeing Eritrea, the Shevchenko family has arrived in Adama with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

My family left Eritrea 8 months ago after the conflict closed our school and clinic. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Adama. We're a family of four and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in October.
I was a farmer in Eritrea, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $500 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $220
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $145
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $65
• Language classes and bus passes: $50
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $20
Every share and every dollar helps.

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Boulogne-Billancourt!
