A free library and reading room for the Sycamore health centre yard: help our neighbors in New Delhi

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 449 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $350 goes: • Materials: $175 • Permits and inspections: $65 • Safety equipment and signage: $45 • Tools hire and delivery: $65 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
