A few hours of disability-rights advocate time could save Sushma's home

Legal aid is overbooked; a few hours of professional help would change the outcome for Sushma.

I'm facing a visa refusal appeal, with a hearing on July. I earn too much to qualify for legal aid on paper, but not nearly enough to pay a lawyer's retainer. I'm looking for a qualified disability-rights advocate licensed in Bagmati who might be able to review my documents, prepare me for the hearing, or take the case pro bono or on a reduced fee. I've organized my documents chronologically, and I'll share them with the lawyer who agrees to help. I can travel to your office in Kathmandu or meet online. I understand that the time of a lawyer is valuable, and I'm deeply grateful for any help or for suggestions of organizations that could assist. Glad we found this place.

  • Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Wish I lived closer to Bogotá so I could bring a meal. Greetings from Marseille

    • Wishing you the best, Sushma. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Boulogne-Billancourt

      • Praying for you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't give up. All the best.

        • Gave what I could, wish it was more. I went through something like this 2 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Pune.

          • You're not alone, Sushma. Hope you get there. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. God bless.
