A few hours of disability-rights advocate time could save Rani's home

Rani is facing a debt-collection lawsuit I believe is invalid and can't afford a lawyer; a disability-rights advocate willing to review the case for free could make the difference.

I'm facing a debt-collection lawsuit I believe is invalid, with a hearing on July. I earn too much to qualify for legal aid on paper, but not nearly enough to pay a lawyer's retainer. I'm looking for a qualified disability-rights advocate licensed in Karnataka who might be able to review my documents, prepare me for the hearing, or take the case pro bono or on a reduced fee. I've organized my documents chronologically, and I'll share them with the lawyer who agrees to help. I can travel to your office in Mangaluru or meet online. I understand that the time of a lawyer is valuable, and I'm deeply grateful for any help or for suggestions of organizations that could assist. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • Sending strength, Rani. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.

    • Rooting for you, Rani. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. God bless
