Nolan was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in July. The surgeon at Saint Mary Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,800, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $2,850 short. my son has been in and out of Saint Mary Hospital since July. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,800 is more than we can find. While we wait, Nolan struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Nolan won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $2,850 goes: • Travel and lodging for the family: $200 • Physiotherapy sessions: $560 • Hospital stay (3 nights): $1,750 • Post-operative medication: $340 Thanks for reading all this.
