Dammam
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $1,150. It will serve about 211 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $1,150 goes: • Materials: $660 • Permits and inspections: $190 • Tools hire and delivery: $300 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Updates from Yasir

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($331 in total) the plan for tools hire and delivery is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
