Ciudad de México
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer community hall, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $1,300. It will serve about 491 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,300 goes: • Materials: $890 • Permits and inspections: $95 • Safety equipment and signage: $135 • Tools hire and delivery: $180 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
