For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Park, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 184 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $350 goes: • Materials: $210 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $15 • Tools hire and delivery: $85 Every share and every dollar helps. - Galih

  • Wishing you the best. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless.
