For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $130, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 322 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $550 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $30 • Materials: $480 Thank you for reading my story.

Sure. The biggest one is safety equipment and signage, $40. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Happy to explain more.
