A community-led a community garden at the Baobab community hall that will serve 476 neighbors.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $650.
It will serve about 476 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $650 goes:
• Materials: $540
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Permits and inspections: $65
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

take care. Great idea, hope you get there. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Hải Phòng.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Thanh.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. materials comes first ($540) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for asking.
Best of luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My neighbor in Jodhpur donated after I showed her your page
looking forward to the next update. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Hải Phòng.
