A community garden for Acacia Park: help our neighbors in Jakarta Selatan

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $650. It will serve about 221 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $650 goes: • Materials: $460 • Permits and inspections: $45 • Safety equipment and signage: $20 • Tools hire and delivery: $125 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
