For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar community hall, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $300. It will serve about 105 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $300 goes: • Materials: $220 • Permits and inspections: $20 • Safety equipment and signage: $15 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly. - Junaid
