A community garden: a volunteer-led effort in Cambridge
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $2,800 for materials.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,800.
It will serve about 412 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,800 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $600
• Materials: $1,950
• Safety equipment and signage: $250
