A community garden: a volunteer-led effort in Angeles
A community-led a community garden at Liberty Park that will serve 306 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Park, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $700.
It will serve about 306 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $700 goes:
• Materials: $530
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $85
