A community-led a community fridge at the Sycamore health centre yard that will serve 192 neighbors.
Anywhere in the world672 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $3,250.
It will serve about 192 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,250 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $340
• Tools hire and delivery: $470
• Materials: $2,440
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Praying for you. Shared it with a few friends. I have a 12 year old who wants to send good wishes too. God bless

Sending good thoughts, Dustin. Shared it with a few friends. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Blessings.
Thinking of you and your family. More neighborhoods should do this. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Flint.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Flint
Wishing you the best, Dustin. It takes guts to ask. Well done.
