A community fridge for Lotus Park: help our neighbors in İzmir
A community-led a community fridge at Lotus Park that will serve 331 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $300, and the remaining cost is $600.
It will serve about 331 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $600 goes:
• Materials: $330
• Permits and inspections: $70
• Safety equipment and signage: $75
• Tools hire and delivery: $125
