A community fridge: a volunteer-led effort in Sakai
Volunteers in Sakai are raising $1,950 for a community fridge at the Sycamore community hall.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $1,950.
It will serve about 325 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
