Keep a roof over Hetal's head in Pune
A notice to vacate arrived last week. Hetal needs $450 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Pune.

When the packaging plant closed in July, Hetal fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Tuesday a notice to vacate was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $450.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, the family must leave.
There are a teenager still in school at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Hetal has started working evenings as a cleaner, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $450 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $350
• Utilities in arrears: $35
• Late fees and court costs: $65
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Updates from Aishwarya
Good news. Because of your gifts ($135 in total) I made the first payment toward late fees and court costs. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Wanted to say thank you properly. 9% funded and the plan for rent arrears is now scheduled.
