A community fridge: a volunteer-led effort in Khulna
A community-led a community fridge at the old Maple bus depot that will serve 508 neighbors.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Maple bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 508 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $350
• Permits and inspections: $25
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Tools hire and delivery: $80
