I'm Ximena, 18, in Year 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study public health.
I have a 3.7 average, I volunteer at a food pantry and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until June. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
Thank you for reading my story.

Wishing you peace. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 14 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Los Angeles.
Rooting for you, Ximena. Hope you get there. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Los Angeles.
Wishing you peace, Ximena. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Greetings from Mansoura
