A college application mentor for Nicolás, first in the family to apply
Looking for a graduate who can spend an hour a week reviewing Nicolás's essays until December.

I'm Nicolás, 19, in Year 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study public health.
I have a 3.9 average, I volunteer at my mosque and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until December. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Wishing you peace, Nicolás. This could happen to any of us. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Love from Gothenburg.
Praying for you, Nicolás. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
Hope things get better soon, Nicolás. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Shinjuku
Wishing you the best. Looking forward to the next update. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care
Sending strength. It takes guts to ask. Well done. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
