I'm Frank, 17, in my final year of high school. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study psychology. I have a 3.9 average, I volunteer at the local library and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until July. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

I hope things turn around soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Bekasi.

    • So sorry you're going through this. Shared it with a few friends. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Take care.

      • Best of luck, Frank. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.

best of luck, Frank. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Cairo.
