Songül lives with cerebral palsy. The occupational therapist at Kadıköy General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $200. Her current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 3 weeks. With the right equipment Songül could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $200 goes: • Fitting and training sessions: $110 • Delivery and set-up: $20 • First-year servicing plan: $70 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Updates from Şule

  1. Quick update: $87 raised so far (44%). I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them. - Şule

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($87 in total) the plan for fitting and training sessions is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Small update. $10 so far, I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts. - Şule

Hang in there, Şule. Hope the doctors have good news. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.

    • Hang in there, Şule. I hope things turn around soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best

Wishing you the best, Şule. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings.

          • Wishing you peace. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Dar es Salaam.
