I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at the Mwanza Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $400. My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks. With the right equipment I could speak with the people around him. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $400 goes: • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $320 • Fitting and training sessions: $20 • Delivery and set-up: $10 • First-year servicing plan: $50 Please ask me anything in the questions section.
