Mi-young lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at the Lexington Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $3,850.
Her current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment Mi-young could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
