I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at the Setagaya Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $7,200.
My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $7,200 goes:
• cochlear implant processor upgrade: $6,750
• Fitting and training sessions: $140
• Delivery and set-up: $75
• First-year servicing plan: $235

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Haruka.
