A cochlear implant processor upgrade for Gregory: help me move freely
Gregory needs a cochlear implant processor upgrade that the health system won't fund; the cost is $6,250.

I live with muscular dystrophy. My occupational therapist at Erie General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,250.
My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 12 weeks.
With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $6,250 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $400
• First-year servicing plan: $330
• cochlear implant processor upgrade: $5,520
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

thinking of you and your family, Gregory. Hope the doctors have good news. I'm in customer support myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
Wishing Gregory a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Love from Lagos.
Hope it all works out. I hope things turn around soon. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Sending love. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. After 19 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings.
Sending strength, Gregory. Shared it with a few friends. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money
