I'm launching a farm stall in Nairobi next December. I have saved the start-up funds myself, but I have never run a business before. I've questions about pricing, suppliers, simple bookkeeping, hiring and - frankly - how not to burn out. I'm looking for a mentor with real small-business experience, ideally in a farm stall, willing to have a monthly call for the first six months. I'll bring a list of questions and my numbers. If you have a few hours a month, and enjoy helping someone avoid the mistakes you made, I'd really appreciate it. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Praying for you. Hope the shop reopens soon. I have a 10 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Nairobi.

    • Thinking of you and your family, Barasa. I hope things turn around soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best.

      • Hope things get better soon. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Wish I lived closer to Halifax so I could bring a meal. Love from Kathmandu.

        • Good luck, Barasa. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Nairobi

          • I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings

            • take care. Shared this with my family. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected

                • Rooting for you, Barasa. This could happen to any of us. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from Ann Arbor
