A simple way to help: donate warm clothing for kids at the Harmony Family Centre.

I coordinate donations at the Harmony Family Centre in Liverpool. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Liverpool, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Harmony Family Centre on Wednesday between 10am and 4pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Harmony Family Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone.

Best of luck. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust
