I coordinate donations at Cedar Refugee Centre in Sydney. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes toddler through teen. If you're in Sydney, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Cedar Refugee Centre on Friday between 9am and 2pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the Cedar Refugee Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Wishing you peace. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Take care

    • Rooting for you, Everett. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Thinking of Sydney.

Hope things get better soon, Everett. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. After 27 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Minneapolis.

        • gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Sydney.

          • Thinking of you and your family, Everett. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless
