I coordinate donations at the Acacia Community Church in Nsukka. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Nsukka, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Acacia Community Church on Wednesday between 9am and 3pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Acacia Community Church clothing bank, which is open to everyone. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Thinking of you and your family. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend!

So sorry you're going through this, Modupe. Shared it with a few friends.

        • Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Contagem.
