I coordinate donations at Cedar Refugee Centre in Corpus Christi. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 4-12. If you're in Corpus Christi, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Cedar Refugee Centre on Saturday between 9am and 4pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the Cedar Refugee Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Thanks for being kind about this.

  • Thinking of you, Brooklyn. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Thinking of Corpus Christi!

You're not alone, Brooklyn. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. After 19 years in public service I know how hard it is to ask for anything. God bless.

      • Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I hope December is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Corpus Christi.
