I coordinate donations at Harmony Refugee Centre in Pittsburgh. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Pittsburgh, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Harmony Refugee Centre on Tuesday between 11am and 4pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the Harmony Refugee Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Thinking of you and your family. Hope this works out for you. Sent it to 19 people at work.

    • Best of luck, Lina. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of Pittsburgh.

      • Thinking of you and your family. I hope things turn around soon. I have a 17 year old who wants to send good wishes too
