Coats, boots, hats and gloves are needed before the first frost.

I coordinate donations at Unity Refugee Centre in Ottawa. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Ottawa, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Unity Refugee Centre on Monday between 10am and 2pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the Unity Refugee Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Hang in there, Lucy. Hope you get there. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
