Every year the Neighborhood Winter Coat Drive brings together 564 neighbors in Medellín. I help organize it with 10 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down. We need people for stewarding, first-aid support and clean-up. Shifts are three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers. It's a family-friendly day, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day. If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • hope things get better soon, Mauricio. Great idea, hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.

    • Rooting for you, Mauricio. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 25 people at work. Take care.

      • More neighborhoods should do this. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best.

        • Wishing you the best, Mauricio. This could happen to any of us. After 10 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.

          • Stay strong, Mauricio. Looking forward to the next update. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Kanpur.
