Feed 255 families each week at Community Pantry in Lagos

The Community Pantry pantry in Lagos is running low just as demand rises; $450 will stock it for 10 weeks.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Saturday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 19 families, and now we feed 255 each week. Donations have dropped by about 57% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Lagos market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $450 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $150 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $180 • Baby formula and diapers: $90 • Refrigeration and electricity: $30 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Sending good thoughts, Victor. Hope this works out for you. My neighbor in Rio de Janeiro donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Lagos

      • Hope it all works out. Looking forward to the next update. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings
