10 volunteers for the Refugee Welcome Picnic in Burnaby

We're short of hands for the Refugee Welcome Picnic; can you spare a morning?

Every year the Refugee Welcome Picnic brings together 465 neighbors in Burnaby. I help organize it with 10 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down. We need people for stewarding, first-aid support and clean-up. Shifts are two to three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers. It's a family-friendly day, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day. If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Best of luck, Ramon. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 15 years in hospitality I know how hard it is to ask for anything.

    • Thinking of you, Ramon. Shared this with my family. All the best.

      • this could happen to any of us. Love from Chicago.
