Boonmee was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in September. The surgeon at Bangkok Orthopedic Institute recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and He is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,650, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,250 short.
my brother has been in and out of Bangkok Orthopedic Institute since September. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,650 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Boonmee struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Boonmee won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.

• Post-operative medication: $65
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $900
• Physiotherapy sessions: $180
