Zinhle D. Chetty
Religious studies and special education teacher, Johannesburg
- 🇿🇦 Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa
- Frangipani Public School
- 1979 to 2007
- English
I taught religious studies at Frangipani Public School in Johannesburg from 1979 to 2007. Most days I taught Grade 11, and I never once raised my voice.
Over the years I had 980 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Zinhle
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Zinhle: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
