I've been a nurse for 18 years, most of them in rehabilitation at Aswan Children's Hospital in Aswan. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
If we met, say hello. I'd love to know how life turned out.
More about Ziad
I still get cards from families years later. They're pinned to my fridge.

You looked after my mother at Aswan Children's Hospital in 1996. We never forgot your kindness. Greetings from London.
