Zawadi Bakari
29 years teaching mathematics in Nairobi
- 🇰🇪 Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya
- Northside Secondary School
- Since 2010
- English, Swahili, Spanish
For 16 years I have been the mathematics teacher at Northside Secondary School. I teach first-year students and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Over the years I've had 580 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Zawadi
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the mountains, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Zawadi: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
