Zawadi Adhiambo Hamisi
Local weaving and bicycle repair
- 🇺🇬 Jinja, Eastern Region, Uganda
- Since 1983
- English, Swahili
I've worked in weaving since 1983. I learned from my older brother and passed what I could on to 1,680 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I carry a notebook everywhere.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Zawadi
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
