I coached volleyball at Cairo Mount Pleasant Swimming Club from 2000 to 2015. Most of my players were between 10 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learned every name in the first week.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Zakaria: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.

you coached me in 2025. I still hear your voice on the sideline.
