Yusuf Hadi Tanoto
English literature teacher at Hope Primary School, Since 1982
- 🇮🇩 Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia
- Since 1982
- English, Indonesian
For 44 years I have been the English literature teacher at Hope Primary School. I teach first-year students and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Over the years I've had 2,240 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Yusuf
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the coast, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Yusuf: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
